Since Christmas time is a-comin’, we thought it would be nice for our readers to learn a Christmas tune to flatpick a Christmas tune for the holidays. We dug into our archives and found a great version of “Silent Night” that was recorded by our columnist Craig Vance, when he was with his band The McKrells, back in 2002. This arrangement appear in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine back in the November/December 2012 issue.

Craig’s arrangement of this tune fits in perfectly in the band setting. If you would like to play this arrangement as a solo piece, add some Carter Style strums on the chords during the long pauses in the melody. We hope you enjoy playing this arrangement of “Silent Night.”
